At Indiana Lost Pet, our mission is to reunite Hoosier families and improve animal welfare by bringing communities together.

About Us

Indiana Lost Pet (ILP) is a community platform founded in 2022 by Indianapolis resident Jakob Morales. Indiana Lost Pet was created in collaboration with Indianapolis Animal Care Services to expand upon the efforts of Indy Lost Pet Alert. ILP strives to be Hoosiers' go-to resource for lost pets.
We envision communities that have adopted a culture of care to rescue lost pets, with residents that are aware of the resources available to them, and where local animal welfare groups are empowered to address the unique needs of their communities.

How Our Process Works

User Reports

Indiana Lost Pets relies on you, our community members, to be our eyes and ears on the ground within Indiana. If you have information about a stray pet, please report it to us. Your reports are invaluable and help us pinpoint the whereabouts of missing pets, leading to quicker reunions.

Social Media Outreach

We leverage the reach of social media platforms to rapidly share information about lost pets across Indiana. Posts made on Indiana Lost Pet are shared to Facebook, making it easy for concerned citizens and pet lovers to spread the word.

Support Communities

We empower communities by connecting our users with local resources and county-specific guides. We are strengthening animal welfare organizations near you by sharing research so they can efficiently target their efforts to address the unique needs of your community.
